The very first thing I ever created with paints was a lonely boat on the ocean in front of the moon. I decided to repaint that scene once I had knowledge of painting and this was the result. I wanted to capture the immensity of the universe, comparing it to what it feels to be a lone boat in the middle of the ocean.
